FIAT Dino Spider Model Identification
The cars are identical externally (there are supposed to be minor sheet metal differences but they are so minor you can't tell) so the easiest is to look at the trim differences. Also, you can look at the wheels, almost all 2.0's had knockoffs and the 2.4 had bolt on wheels. This is not a sure thing but in general if the car has knockoffs its 2.0. The 2.4 litre spider has a revised grill (black with 2 horizontal chrome bars instead of the original cheese grater grill) and the rear badges on the 2400 say "Dino 2400" instead of FIAT Dino . Another item is the relocation of side-lights on the front fenders, they were moved from behind the front indicator lights to behind the front wheels, incorporated into the horizontal "Fiat Dino" badges. As you can see FIAT Dino Spider model identification is pretty easy. I was asked once how come my car was missing its FIAT Spider name plate on the back, that is only on the 124 FIAT Spider not on the FIAT Dino Spider.
I will get better pics soon to identify these locations and difference better to make it easier for model identification. |
